Commercial Art gör Salem Al Fakir på Berns

Lördagen den 8 maj spelar Salem Al Fakir på Berns i Stockholm. Det blir Melodifestivalaktuelle Salems enda konsert i Stockholm under våren.

”Ignore This” är Salem Al Fakirs tredje skiva och kom till under en sällsynt kreativ höst, då Salem skakade av sig alla förväntningar och återvände till debutplattans kravlösa lekfullhet. Samtidigt är utvecklingen enorm – Salem har gjort sin dator till främsta låtskrivarpartner och hans låtskrivartalang har fått syntpop i blodet – ”Ignore This” pulserar av elektronisk upptäckarlusta!

Commercial Art gör en videoupptagning av konserten i samarbete med Atomgruppen och Telia. detta blir sommarens första konsertfilm, men inte den enda, vi ser fram emot en händelserik festivalsommar.

Behold That Strawberry

I went to New York to shoot Behold that strawberry in a Bar in Queens. now its out! and it’s fantastic. Below and excerpt from dossierjournal.

Salome Oggenfuss and Sandra Isacsson have just put a version of their two channel video installation Behold that Strawberry up on their website.  Based loosely on Pasolini’s Salo, which itself is loosely based on the Marquis de Sade’s The 120 Days of Sodom, the film features four different dominatrixes in a bar in Queens recounting stories from their work and interacting with the bar’s patrons. The stories are recounted rather than reenacted and this gives the room the feel a giant confessional where people’s perversities are voiced without guilt or shame.  The bar seems to merge the room in Sartre’s No Exit with Sade’s mountain chateau: a sort of profane purgatory where the monotony is broken up by jokes, dramas, sex acts, contracts.

Din Tillgivne /Andrée. Short film (2006)

You Tube premiere of award-winning short.

Andrée flies on a mental to the Northpole in a hot air balloon.

A young man who lost himself in unlucky love creates a new space for himself in a fictional world.
He embarks on a journey to the north pole in a hot air balloon and sends back an odd report of  facts, poems and pictures.
The journey to the frozen north is one between fiction, reality and dream, and everything is not what it looks like.

The film is inspired by the Swedish pioneer polar aviator S.A Anrée and his crew who disappeared near the North pole after a failed attempt to cross it in a hydrogen balloon in the summer of 1897. The expedition was found dead more than 30 years after their disappearance. Through the study of Mr Andrée’s diary and the photographic material found It was clear that the balloon only flew for a couple of days before it crashed and a journey by foot started that went on for three months on the ice before they died for unknown reasons.
